Day 01: Arrival at Chennai

You will arrive at Chennai International Airport. Following customs, immigration formalities and baggage collection, a Yatra Pundit representative will meet you as you EXIT/ARRIVALS TERMINAL building after which you would be transferred to your hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02: In Chennai

After breakfast at the hotel, you will proceed to see Kapaleshwara Temple, Kapaleshwara Temple is a temple of Shiva located in Mylapore, Chennai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The form of Shiva’s wife Parvati worshipped at this temple is called Karpagambal. The temple was built around the 7th century CE and is a good example of Dravidian architecture. In the evening, the famous Marina Beach, the pride of Chennai, is second longest beach in the world and has a wide sandy foreshore. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03: Chennai – Mahabalipuram
After breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to Mahabalipuram (52 km / 1 hour) en-route visit Kanchipuram and then proceed to Mamallapuram. On arrival check in at the hotel, later visit the Shore Temples and Arjun’s Penance, the world’s largest bas-relief. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 04: Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be driven to Pondicherry (99 km / 2 hours). Upon arrival check in at the hotel, take a sightseeing tour of Pondicherry. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 05: Pondicherry – Thanjore
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be driven to Thanjore (171 km / 3 hours). Rice bowl of Tamil Nadu and the cultural capital of the country in the 18th century, Thanjavur rose to prominence during the Chola reign. Temple architecture was redefined during their rule, and a new paradigm of Dravidian architecture was set. The 11th century Big Temple or the Brihadeeswara Temple in the heart of the town stands testimony to such a tradition. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 06: Thanjore – Trichy
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be driven to Trichy (57 km / 1 hour). En-route visit Chidambaram, Kumbakonam and Gangikondacholapuram, Upon arrival check-in at the hotel Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 07: Trichy – Madurai
After breakfast at the hotel, you will visit Srirangam and Jambukeshwara temple. Later you will be driven to Madurai (135 Kms/ 3 Hrs). Upon arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 08: Madurai
After Breakfast at the hotel, Meenakshi temple Evening visit to Meenakshi Temple to see aarti ceremony. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 09: Madurai – Periyar
After breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to Periyar (170 km / 3 hours). Afternoon boat ride at Periyar Lake to see the wildlife. Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 10: Periyar – Kumarakom

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be driven to Kumarakom (114 km / 03 hour).
Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake, and is part of the Kuttanad region. The bird sanctuary here, which is spread across 14 acres is a favourite haunt of migratory birds and an ornithologist’s paradise. Egrets, darters, herons, teals, waterfowls, cuckoo, wild duck and migratory birds like the Siberian Stork visit here in flocks and are a fascinate the visitors. Day 11: Kumarakom – Alleppey
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be driven to Alleppey (47 km / 1 hour). Kerala’s famous “backwaters” On arrival we embark upon the private houseboat traditionally called a Kettuvallomor rice barge. Lunch will be served aboard the luxurious houseboat. Spend the rest of the day leisurely plying the canals, witnessing the daily rituals of river life; brightly clad women washing their laundry along the river banks, children splashing around in the placid warm water, water buffalos grazing lazily and farmers in the rice paddies. Savour a scrumptious southern Kerala feast and then retire on the houseboat for a restful night. Overnight on-board at Houseboat.

Day 12: Alleppey – Cochin
After breakfast on-board, you will be driven to Cochin (43 km / 1 hour). You will proceed for city tour which includes historical sites in Mattancherry / Fort Kochi – Jew Town, Jewish synagogue, St. Francis church, Santa Cruz Basilica, Vasco House, Dutch Palace, Fort Kochi beach, Chinese fishing nets and watch the sunset. In the evening View a Kathakali dance performance. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 13: Cochin Departure
This morning after breakfast you will be driven to Cochin airport to board the flight to onwards destination.
