Day 01: Arrive Delhi

You will arrive at Delhi International airport; upon arrival, you will be driven to Agra (205 km / 4 hours). After check in at the hotel, visit world famous Taj Mahal at Agra fort. Evening return to Delhi. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02: Delhi Patna via Flight / via Road (Rajgir 105 km / 2 hours)

After breakfast, we transfer you to the airport to board the flight for Patna. Upon arrival, we drive to Rajgir enroute visiting Nalanda (90 km) – the world’s oldest university founded in the 5th century. Also go for the visit of the beautiful Thai temple and the Nava Nalanda Mahavihara, a centre for research in Pali and Buddhist studies.

Post lunch we proceed to Rajgir the erstwhile capital of the Magadha kingdom.

Day 03: Rajgir-Bodhgaya (195 km / 4 hours)

Early morning visit to Gridhakuta to see the Rising Sun. Visit Sapataparni cave Venuvan Hot Spring. Later we drive down to Bodhgaya where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. Lunch at the hotel and rest of the time at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel (B/L/D).

Day 04: Bodhgaya

After breakfast proceed to visit the Mahabodhi Temple, built by Ashoka the Great in 3rd century BC, Niranjana River, Sujata Village. Later visit the Sacred Maha Bodhi Tree, having spiritual importance. Overnight stay at the hotel (B/L/D).

Day 05: Bodhgaya – Varanasi (245 km / 6 hour)

Post breakfast we proceed to Varanasi the ‘Eternal city’ situated on the banks of sacred river Ganga. On arrival, we transfer you to the hotel followed by lunch. In the evening, you must view the “Aarti” ceremony on the Ghats (River Banks), a sight which cannot be missed. Overnight stay at the hotel (B/L/D).

Day 06: Varanasi – Excursion to Sarnath

Morning boat cruise at the river Ganges to observe the bathing Ghats (river bank) & cremation site. Sunrise on the riverfront, as seen from a boat, can be a spiritually uplifting sight. Return to hotel for breakfast. In the afternoon, we go for excursion to Sarnath, 10kms east of Varanasi is one of the Buddhist major centres of India. After attaining enlightenment, Lord Buddha came to Sarnath where he gave his first sermon. Visit the ruins, the Stupa, the Buddhist temple and the museum (Closed on Fridays). At the museum is the Ashok Pillar with its four guardian lions, used as independent India’s national emblem. Return to the hotel in the evening and. Overnight stay at the hotel (B/L/D).

Day 07: Varanasi-Kushinagar (260 km / 06 hour)
In the morning, you can explore the various temples of the Hindu gods. After lunch, we leave Varanasi for Kushinagar where Lord Buddha breathed his last and was cremated. Overnight stay at the hotel (B/L/D).

Day 08: Kushinagar – Lumbini (180 km / 05 hour)

Morning drive to Lumbini – the birth place of Lord Buddha, on arrival, transfer to the hotel. Afternoon visit the birth place of Lord Buddha – Mayadevi Temple, this place is a blessed one for its serenity and magnificent natural beauty. Overnight stay at the hotel (B/L/D).

Day 09: Lumbini-Sravasti (150 km / 04 hour)

Post breakfast we proceed to Sravasti enroute visiting Kapilavastu – the childhood home of Gautam Buddha and an active centre of Buddhism. Arrive Sravasti and after lunch we make a visit to Sahet-Mahet where Lord Buddha performed his miracles sitting on a pedalled lotus. Overnight stay at the hotel (B/L/D).

Day 10: Sravasti-Lucknow (180 km / 05 hour)
In the morning drive, down to Lucknow airport to board the flight to Delhi and then to catch onwards connection.
